LG urged for re-organization of JMC, development of Jammu City: Mayor

JAMMU, July 14: Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation has urged the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for re-organization of the corporation and also raised many issues pertaining to development of Jammu city under the jurisdiction of JMC.
This was informed by JMC Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, while addressing a press conference along with Advocate Purnima Sharma, Deputy Mayor; Yash Paul Sharma, Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee and Kuldeep Singh Chib, Chairman Social Justice Committee, here today.
Informing media persons regarding their meeting with the Lieutenant Governor Raj Bhavan, here yesterday, the Mayor said that various issues of public importance were raised before Mr Sinha
“We requested for construction/development of a well furnished water park/amusement park in Jammu city on the pattern of wonderland Ludhiana to attract more tourists, transfer of JUDA, JK Housing Board to JMC in order to implement the centrally sponsored schemes i.e. Housing for All, Skill Development etc in a better and effective manner and simplification of the building permission norms,’ he said.
Other issue raised during meeting with Lt Governor, included transfer of Transport Yard Narwal of JDA to JMC as thousand of shops of different categories situated there are under the direct control of JDA which is not in a position to provide basic amenities to the shopkeepers of the locality as well as commuters.
The Mayor took up the issue of providing proper security/PSOs to all the Councillors of JMC as number of incidents of attacking on them by anti-social elements have been happening for the last 3 years while conducting tour of their respective ward in connection with redressing the issues of public importance.
