KATHUA, Sept 8: Demanding ADC post for Hiranagar, Congress activists under the leadership of District Congress Committee (DCC) president and former MLC Subash Gupta held meeting at Hiranagar.
Subash Gupta while addressing the meeting said that time has come that the people of Hiranagar should raise the demand of providing ADC post at Hiranagar.
“The people of Basohli and Billawar have already got the post of Additional Deputy Commis-sioner, he added.
Gupta further said that Hiranagar constituency is having more number of tehsils and blocks, and population as compared to other tehsils.
“Some area of Hiranagar falls in Kandi belt and more along the International Border. The people of Kandi have their own demands and problems nevertheless the people residing across the border have another. Cross border firing, deployment of forces across the border, the security arrangements, and border fencing increases the hardships of border hamlet people,” he added.
He further said that if Hiranagar gets the post of ADC it would benefit the people of these areas, who have to travel Kathua for minor works wasting time and money.
He recalling the issue as public concerned said that all the citizens of Hiranagar tehsil and neighboring tehsils should come forward for this good cause keeping aside their political interests.
Subash Gupta demanded for posting of Additional Deputy Commissioner at Hiranagar for addressing the genuine demand of public at the earliest.
