Cong Sarpanch among 5 booked

REASI, Nov 30: A Congress Sarpanch among five Congress activists were booked by Police for allegedly assaulting BJP supporters over political rivalry, here last night.
Two of the injured have sustained serious injuries in the assault and were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu while all the accused are absconding.
The incident took place near Dam Top, under the jurisdiction of Reasi Police Station, late last night when the victim were on way to hospital for admission of a patient. They were intercepted by the accused and brutally assaulted.
The victims were identified as Sohan Singh, son of Moti Ram of Thampal, his brother Balwan Singh, Balwant Singh, son of Ishar Dass, Rajesh Singh son of Lal Singh and Raj Kumar son of Netar Ram of Salal Kotli.
Sohan Singh and Balwan Singh, who sustained critical injuries in the assault, were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu.
The accused were identified as Kewal (Sarpanch of Gari and resident of Chinkah), Umesh Singh of Bareli, Maqbool of Gari, Ranjit Singh of Gari and Raju Singh of Gran Morh.
The accused Sarpanch Kewal, affiliated to Congress party, is a history-sheeter in Police records and was booked in another assault case under the jurisdiction of Arnas Police Station. A case under Arms Act and other sections has already been registered against him at Arnas Police Station.
