Cong expresses concern over hardships faced by stranded people

SRINAGAR, May 11: Expressing strong resentment over the hardships being faced by stranded people from J&K, the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) today asked the J&K Government to address the issue of stranded people within and outside J&K.
The party also asked the Govt to adopt sympathetic and responsive approach in order to ensure that the migrant labourers and stranded people of J&K reach their destinations, keeping in view the upcoming occasions of Shab-i- Qader and Eid-ul- Fitr.
Former J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president Peerzada Mohd Sayeed and former Minister Taj Mohi- ud- Din have urged the J&K Government  to adopt sympathetic approach to the issue of stranded people of J&K stuck in different  states in the country and abroad, besides addressing issue  of migrant labourers in order who are stranded within J&K to ensure that they reach their respective states.
Both the leaders expressed concern over the hardships confronting stranded people due to the lockdown, the unsympathetic approach on the part administration on account of granting permission or movement passes to them has made the situation more difficult for them, which is very unfortunate and condemnable, they said
The Cong leaders said migrant labourers within J&K are forced to run from pillar to post for seeking movement passes. Same is the case with stranded people of J&K in different States, they rued.
The Nodal Officers appointed by the Government for different states do not respond to distress calls of stranded people, the hardships confronting them (stranded people) in other different states can be avoided provided the Govt make its Nodal Officers responsive and sympathetic to stranded people, they added.
Both the leaders asked the Govt to make the process of  granting movements passes to migrant labourers easy to ensure that they reach their respective destinations. They further urged the Govt to  bring back stranded people of J&K from different states and abroad keeping in view the upcoming auspicious occasion of Shab-i- Qader and Eid- ul- Fitr.
