Young Writers Guild organizes online Gazal Mehfil

JAMMU, May 11: In the ongoing lockdown, Young Writers Guild here today organized an online Gazal Mehfil on Mothers’ Day and the literary programme was dedicated to women writers.
Through online mode, the function was attended by a galaxy of poets and writers based at Jammu and Chandigarh.
Renowned poets-Dildar Mohan and Santosh Shah Nadaan jointly presided over the function and Vinod Kumar conducted the proceedings.
The programme started with the recitation of a gazal by a young girl, Sheena Koul. The gazal has been written by renowned poet Late Shiv Ji Krindgami.
This was followed by expressing solidarity with Corona warriors.
Dildar Mohan and Santosh Shah Nadaan threw light on the historical background and modalities of gazal writing. Both the speakers briefed about the importance of gazal writing in literature.
The poets who presented their gazals were Kundan Paras, Ashok Gowher, Kusum Dhar, T.N Ganjoo Vishwas and M.L Masroof.
Those who spoke in the online programme were J.N Sagar, A.K Naz, Avtar Hugami, Satish Safeer, Saraswati Koul and others.
In their presidential address Dildar Mohan and Santosh Shah Nadaan appreciated the efforts of Young Writers Guild in organizing different literary programmes on different topics since its inception.
