Cong activists block Shahedi Chowk, protest at Hiranagar

KATHUA, Mar 14: Protesting against the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and scarcity of ration in Kathua, the Congress activists held demonstrations in the Kathua and Hiranagar towns today.
At Kathua the activists also blocked the Shahedi Chowk for two hours and protested against the hollow slogans and promises of the BJP heading the Government at Delhi. The protest was led by senior Congress leader Naresh Sharma while a large number of Congress activists participated in it. They demanded immediate supply of ration to the people failing which the agitation will be intensified.
Another protest was held by Youth Congress activists at Hiranagar who alleged that people were facing lot of problems due to scarcity of ration. They said the CAPD depots have gone dry as the department has failed to supply ration. Besides, they warned against supply of wheat instead of flour and demanded that the ration be supplied at old scale.
