SAMBA, July 27: To further add in the pollution level of Basantar river in which the effluents of some industries also flow in the area the people are also throwing the gutter garbage in river, which has been strongly opposed by the youth activists of the area.
While expressing their resentment over the throwing of gutter garbage in the river, the youth activists said some people are collecting dirt from the gutters of people’s houses and throwing it in the Basantar river by tankers due to which the water of Basantar is also being contaminated. They said water of Basantar river flows towards the border areas and people use it in many ways. They demanded strict action be taken against those people who pollute the water. They said that even today, the dirt of the gutter was being thrown in the Basantar River from a tanker.
They urged the Deputy Commissioner, Samba, Rohit Khajuria to take strict action against those people who are polluting the Basantar river and also throwing the gutter garbage in it.
