Comm Secretary Relief reviews Mahashivratri arrangements

JAMMU, Feb 21: APMCC today listed various requirements of Kashmiri Pandits for the forthcoming Mahashivratri (Herath) festival and asked the Government to make arrangements of stalls of essential commodities for the festival in adequate quantity at various migrant camps and non-camps for the purpose.
The list of requirements was submitted to the Government at a special meeting held by the Commissioner Secretary, Relief, Rehabi-litation and Disaster Management, Khursheed Ahmed Shah attended by Chief Engineer PHE, Chief Engineer PDD, Director CAPD, Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), ML Raina, Managing Director, Horticulture and Marketing, Director Fisheries, Director Agriculture, DC Relief, VK Dhar, Vinod Pandit, Chairman All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC), King C Bharati, National Spokespe-rson APMCC, Dr TK Bhat, General secretary, ASKPC and Advocate Arun Kandroo, general secretary, APMCC.
Speaking in the meeting, Vinod Pandit listed requirements of temporary counters for essential commodities for Mahashivratri (Herath) on March 2, 3, and 4 from 10:30 am to 5 PM be established at Jagti Township, TRT Nagrota, TRT Migrant Flat’s Buta Nagar, TRT Migrant Flat’s Muthi, Durga Nagar, Durga Nagar Sector 2, Bantalab Chowk, Ananand Nagar, Bohri, Gangyal , Tallab Tillo , Camp Road, Gol Gujral , Subash Nagar and Indira Chowk.
The item’s to be sold by these temporary counters include Walnuts, Fishes, Lotus Stem (Nadroo), flowers , sugar and other essentials for the festival.
APMCC also asked for advance cash assistance for migrant relief holders before Mahashivratri (Herath) and release of pending salary of PM Package Employees working in Valley including December, January pending salary of ZEO Education, Qazigund Zone and pending salary of Devsar Zone and other departments.
The leaders also insisted on availability of cash in ATMS, rate control squads from March 1 to March 5 besides uninterrupted power supply and adequate water supply during Mahashivratri (Herath).
The meeting discussed issues threadbare and on spot instructions were issued by the Commissioner /Secretary Relief, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Khursheed Ahmed Shah to meet the requirements so that Kashmiri Pandits can celebrate Mahashivratri (Herath) with religious fervour and gaiety.
Shah also asked the Relief Commissioner to coordinate the process acting as nodal agency for the purpose and inform the community about the facilities being provided well in advance.
