Candle light marches, prayer meetings for CRPF martyrs

Jammu, Feb 21: Amidst prayer meetings and candle light marches for paying tributes to the CRPF martyrs of Pulwama terror attack, various organizations have appealed for peace and communal harmony.
A candle light march was organized by the Traders Association Shakti Nagar-Rajpura at Shakti Nagar, under the leadership of Th Manohan Singh, in memory of those martyred in Pulwama terror attack. The participants of the march expressed their grief over deaths of CRPF jawans and conveyed their solidarity with the bereaved families. Among those who participated in the candle march include Gopal Sharma, Pardip Sharma, Bushan Sharma, Ajy Gupta, Surinder Sharma, Kewal Krishan,Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Sharma, Vinod Gupta, Sushil Gupta, Kasturi Lal, Sampuran Singh, Prabh Dayal, Harbans Lal, Raj Kumar and others.
Shashi Sharma, secretary Pradesh Congress Committee, organised a candle light march at Bishnah to pay homage to the CRPC martyrs. A large number of people took part in the march, which started from BCC office Kanhal and culminated at Bishnah town.
Congress party also organized a simple prayer meeting at Bikram Chowk Jammu for paying tributes to the CRPF martyrs. A number of Congress workers, led by Varun Magotra, took part in the prayer meeting and lit candles for paying tributes to the martyrs. Senior Congress leader Vinod Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Narinder Sharma, Raj Kumar Mehta, Lalita Sharma and others attended the prayer meeting
Varun Magotra appealed people to maintain peace and communal harmony and demanded stern action against those who tried to create communal tension in Jammu during bandh on February 15.
Under the leadership of Com Naresh Munshi, a meeting of Jammu Provincial Council of the Communist Party of India was held for expressing grief and anguish over dastardly terror attack on CRPF at Lethpora. The party while condemning the terror activities, called upon all sides to pool together collective efforts for bringing down the violence levels, which in turn could create conditions in which all matters could be sorted out.
The meet also appealed all sides to maintain peace and calm by maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood at all levels in the State. Com K K Anand, Com A Pardhan, Com Anil Chopra, Com R Singh, Com Sanjay, Com D S Charak, Com Ashwani Kapoor, Com Amarjeet Singh, Com Rakesh Sharma and others attended the meeting.
All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has asked the people of India especially those living in the Northern States has asked the people to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood at every cost. APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said that no sane person would be happy with death and gore and hence innocent people should not be targeted in reaction to any blast or similar action carried out by militants. “As elections are approaching political parties would try their best to exploit the emotions of commoners thus leading to hardships to people of Kashmir putting up in various areas of India for different reasons,” he said and appealed people to remain vigilant against the elements who are hell bent to destroy the secular fabric of the country.
Thakur Hoshiar Singh, Congress leader and JKPCC Member, led a march for paying tributes to CRPF martyrs and warned Pakistan of its misdeeds of keeping J&K on the boil every time. “India had been tolerating misdeeds of Pakistan for years together. But now the enough is enough. India has to act and the time is now. No talks but only trampling the enemy like an elephant does with its massive feet,” he said.
Manvadhikar National Party J&K has also appealed people to maintain peace brotherhood and communal harmony. The party State president Sanjay Dhar and State general secretary (Org) Vinod Pandita, in a joint statement, appealed people not to pay heed to rumours and maintain old age secular fabric of the State which is famous all over world. They also appealed the civil society members, heads of organizations and political parties to discharge their bounden role in restoring peace, brotherhood and harmony for everlasting peace of J&K leaving their petty party politics aside.
