JAMMU, Aug 13: BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, who is also party incharge of J&K, today lambasted former Chief Minister and president, National Conference, Dr Farooq Abdullah for suggesting that India must talk to Pakistan for peace in J&K.
The BJP leader was talking to reporters on the sidelines of a Tiranga rally in Srinagar today.
Chugh said the Modi Government would talk to the locals to resolve their problems and not to Pakistan as suggested by the NC leader.
“Farooq Abdullah should stop looking at Pakistan for the solution of local problems”, he said while hitting out at the NC leader.
Chugh also condemned Mehbooba Mufti for her remarks that nobody in J&K will take the National Flag in their hands in case the Article 370 was abrogated. “Today thousands of people are carrying Tiranga in this march in their hands. Hope she can see the transformation taking place in JK,” he added.
He said those carrying Tiranga in today’s rally are all people of Kashmir. Today every child in the Valley takes tricolour in the rally which is a reply to the three dynasties of Nehru -Gandhi family, Abdullahs and Muftis who looted the resources of erstwhile State during last over six decades.
Chugh said that the leaders of these parties exploited the sentiments of Kashmiris, cheated and deceived them for their vested interests.
“These parties were never interested in upliftment of common man of J&K but promotion of their own families”, the BJP leader said, adding that the situation has now totally changed on ground with the drastic steps and pro people polices of Narendra Modi Government.
Chugh, while taking a dig at the dynastic parties said now Kashmiris have seen through their game plan and they will no longer fall in their trap. “Today there are no takers for NC, Congress and PDP in Kashmir,” he added.
Chugh, while lambasting PDP chief and former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti asked her not to spit venom and mislead the innocent people of Valley. He said the Tiranga is the life and pride of every Kashmiri and they love it as the people in other parts of country love and respect it.
He said Kashmir is our mother land and people are taking out the Tiranga rally in every nook and corner of the Valley.
Chugh said “I think it is my good luck that I got the opportunity to participate in the rally with my Kashmiri brethren”. He said there is complete transformation in J&K and people want progress and peace now.
“The J&K is no more a terrorist capital of the country. It’s a tourism capital where locals are looking for progress and development,” he added.
He said people of J&K enjoy the same rights which the people of other parts of India have.
He said the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ was taken out today to carry Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s message of ” Meri Matti, Mera Desh” to celebrate Azadi Amrit Mahotsava in which hundreds of people joined and raised slogans like Vande Matram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
