Christian Sabha holds round table conference with DOM for protection of Constitution, Democracy

JAMMU, Mar 19: A round table conference was organized today at Jammu by Ashu Peter Mattoo (president, All J&K Christian Sabha) along with Dalit OBC Minorities (DOM), a wing of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations for protection of Constitution and Democracy under the slogan of “Sath Chalo, Milkar Lado”.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Kalsotra (president of the Confederation and DOM) said the agenda of the conference is protection of Constitution and Democracy, reservation to depressed Christian, stoppage of Collegiums System and reservation in higher Judiciary, higher education, promotions, prohibition of contractual system in Government departments, restoration of statehood, etc.
The recent attacks on Christianity and rising cases of atrocities were condemned during the conference and it was brought to light that their rights should be protected as enshrined in the constitution.
Three major resolutions were passed at the conference. One was to restore the statehood of J&K and the second was to name new Parliament House as Dr BR Ambedkar Parliament House. Third resolution was to focus on safeguarding the Constitution and the democracy by addressing all the issues in the agenda.
Participants said that these conferences should be converted into a revolution for social justice and more places should be reached where they can hold these conferences and start a conversation around how they can continue Dr BR Ambedkar’s legacy.
Others who spoke were Kuldeep Singh Giani, Lazard Sotra, FC Satia, Sardar Narinder Singh Khalsa, Shahid Salim Mir, Kulwant Singh, Sukhdev Singh, HR Phonsa, Dr Sameer Choudhary, Mohd Zusuf Lone, Arsaf Teji, Shahzadi Gill, John Wilson, Robin Singh, Anil Mattoo and Sunny Khokhar.
