JAMMU, July 11: The 20 daylong Children’s Summer Workshop that was inaugurated on June 14 concluded here today at Abhinav Theatre.
During workshop children from various schools of Jammu region got a rare opportunity to learn and develop skills in various disciplines like Painting, Dance and Theatre art under qualified experts.
Hindi play ‘Andher Nagri Chopat Raja’ was staged by children and an exhibition was also organised showcasing painting works by the children during the workshop.
Welcoming guests, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan, I/C Divisional Head congratulated the participating children of the workshop for exhibiting their hidden talent.
In his message Secretary JKAACL, Bharat Singh said: “Children’s Workshop organised by JKAACL was not less than any a festival for him and whatever the children have learned here through learning by doing method will enrich their overall development not only artistically and aesthetically but as a good human too.”
On this occasion, Mona Singh, Chief Income Tax Commissioner was chief guest.
She said that learning art does not only develop various skills of children but also inculcates values and sensitivity in them about the society.
“These performing arts provide full opportunity to imbibe values and self confidence among children which develops their personality and overall development,” she maintained.
The participating children in the workshop were Kamakshi Sharma, Zaira Shoket, Vasvi, Samrat Sharma, Mohd. Umar Dar, Swasti, Lakshay Bakshi, Krishna, Mohd. Hadeed Eishan, Rahul Dev, Samar Pratap Singh, Ahaan Dubey, Hansuja Sharma, Aastha Bandral, Niddha Mahajan, Aaiyana Raina, Sonakshi Sharma, Samaira Sharma, Sharon Gupta, Vansh Sharma, Tanish Sharma, Sumit Mattoo, Shruti Sharma, Shalini Sharma, Arpit Kaila, Bhavesh Mahajan, Ayush Deol, Mansi Sharma, Toshanav Suri, Jayashtha Verma, Yuvraj Singh, Ranveer Baboria, Shubhdeep, Riyansh Mahajan, Shaloom Rohin and Rijul Sharma.
Neeraj Kant, Akash Dogra and Ankush Kumar were experts of Theatre, Dance and painting workshop respectively.
