Chib provides accommodation to IETE Jammu Sub Centre

JAMMU, Sept 6: Former Cabinet Minister Rajinder Singh Chib provided suitable accommodation for carrying out the technical and academic initiatives to the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Jammu Sub Centre at the premises of Chenab College of Education, Kaluchak.
IETE is the leading recognized professional society of India devoted to the advancement of science, technology, electronics, telecommunication, and information technology. Founded in 1953, it serves more than 1,25,000 members through its 60 plus centers/sub centers spread all over India and abroad. The Institution provides leadership in Scientific and Technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has recognized IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence.
Professor Pawanesh Abrol, Chairman, IETE JSC informed that that this organization was established in J&K a few years back but owing to lack of proper infrastructure, it was finding difficulties in conducting its programmes like workshops, technical meets, invited talks etc.
Chib, who himself is a Fellow and Life member of IETE, came forward and has provided its excellent infrastructure at Kunjwani for the activities of IETE till the Jammu Centre gets its own accommodation.
In addition, Chib has also offered to provide assistance to the Institution in many ways.
Major General SK Sharma, (Retd) and Fellow, IETE while elaborating the initiatives of IETE mentioned that IETE has also a Student Forum at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
In the last one year the Institution has collaborated and conducted an international conference, ten training programmes, technical competitions and many other events for the benefit of the student and academic fraternity, he added.
Prof Praveen Kumar Lehana, Immediate Past Chairman, Joy Ganjoo, Er Samir Sharma, Vice Chairpersons, Er Vijay Sharma, Secretary, IETE Jammu Sub Centre were also present during the ceremony.
