KISHTWAR, Sept 8: Senior leader of National Conference (NC) Ajeet Bhagat strongly criticized the BJP’s proxy Government in Jammu and Kashmir for its failure to ensure equitable development across the region. He asserted that the people are feeling alienated under the present dispensation due to the lack of basic amenities across the Union Territory.
The NC leader asserted that the BJP leadership should come forward and clarify what tangible efforts they have made for the people of the Chenab valley area, questioning why there is increasing frustration and disappointment among the locals towards the BJP.
Ajeet Bhagat emphasized that the people of whole Chenab valley area are suffering due to the lack of essential infrastructure, healthcare and educational facilities. He further added that despite the BJP’s promises, the ground realities remain bleak, with little to no development seen in these critical sectors.
He promised the voters of Nagseni Paddar and Kishtwar constituencies that if the National Conference is voted to power, the party will prioritize the holistic development of the constituencies. He assured the people that the NC Government will work tirelessly to provide better roads, reliable electricity, clean drinking water and quality healthcare, ensuring no area is left behind.
The NC leader emphasized that the NC in its poll manifesto has committed to implement the National Food Security Act, ensuring food security for all citizens, increase 5kg to 10 kg free rice per person per month. “Apart from this, the Party’s manifesto includes significant promises such as providing Rs 5000 annually to elderly women from economically weaker sections, provide one lakh jobs to J&K youth, offering 12 LPG cylinders per family per year and provision of free 200 power units for every household and free drinking water supply,” he said.
Bhagat appealed to the people to vote and support DDC Chairperson Pooja Thakur from Nagseni Paddar constituency and former Home Minister Sajjad Hamed Kichloo in Assembly polls for equitable development of the areas.
