JAMMU, Sept 24: For his personal interest shown in execution of Tawi River Front Project, Chander Mohan Sharma senior BJP leader and convener Tawi Andolan has urged Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary J&K UT to ensure participation of prominent local social organizations and civil society in their much aspired project to restore historical heritages of holy Tawi Putri.
Sharma said, “PM Modi is kind enough to sanction much ambitious project to save holy Tawi from extinction and pollution given Rs 187 crore funds for seven km long Tawi restoration to its origin. He commended CS, Dr Mehta for curtailing execution period from 18 to 12 months.”
C M Sharma hope Jammu people to see beautified and Clean Tawi by December 2022 as declared by Chief Secretary in a meeting of senior concerned officers of executing agencies.
Convener Tawi Andolan reiterated Jammu people compliments to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is committed to transform UT, appealed to include local prominent social organizations and citizens in Tawi River Front Project.
He was addressing the participants of birthday celebration of Maharaja Hari Singh at Tawi Aarti Ghat. He described Maharaja as most progressive and judicious minded King. Others who paid tributes to Maharaja include Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, Balvinder Singh, vice president, Tawi Andolan, Zorawar Singh, president Team Jammu, Davinder Singh Kaloria, president General Zorawar Singh Trust, Prof Shalini, Kanav Sharma Legal Incharge BJYM J&K, Pankaj Khajuria, Swarna Bhagat, chairperson Women Credit Cooperative Limited and Raman Sharma.
