CEC LAHDC calls on Parvez Diwan, Jatinder Singh

LEH, Apr 18: The earlier decision by the Secretary Civil Aviation Parvez Diwan of starting three additional flights in a week from Delhi to Leh and vice versa from May 27 got pre-pond to May 1 with CEC LAHDC Rigzin Spalbar making a personal visit to the former at Delhi today requesting him for the change in flight schedule considering the heavy influx of tourists and local students coming for summer vacations to Leh.
Spalbar also stressed on early completion of Leh air terminal for which a fund allocation of Rs 112 crore has already been sanctioned and also requested to introduce flight services of other private airline companies especially during the tourist season to keep a check on the passenger congestion and air fare to Leh.
Responding to the demands, Diwan issued an on spot direction to National Aviation Authority to pace up the pending air terminal of Leh and expressed willingness to persuade the private airlines at their level.
Meanwhile, Mr Spalbar also called on the Union Minister of State for Youth, Sports and Defense, Jitender Singh at Delhi and had a detail conversation about the projects and issues related with development of Sports infrastructures and Defense related issues in Leh distt.
CEC requested the minister to give early approval from GoI for construction of Indoor Stadium at Leh saying that LAHDC, Leh has already submitted a Rs 6 crore project in this regard to GoI.
The minister on spot issued directions to his officers to start necessary paper works and assured CEC that he will try his level best for getting approval of the Indoor Stadium Project shortly.
CEC also requested the minister to regularize those labours who are working in MES and Ordnance since many years giving one time exemption in qualification and age criteria.
