NEW DELHI, May 17: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) while reacting over announcement of unilateral ceasefire by the Union Government in Kashmir valley stated that the nationalist forces in particular Kashmiri Pandits who are first victim of these gun totted militants as well as of stone pelters are highly dejected and demoralized by the unilateral ceasefire announced by the Central Government during the Ramzan in Kashmir.
In a statement issued here, today Kashmiri said asking security forces not to launch operations in the region during the next 30 days, when there is no guarantee that there would be no violation from the terrorists’ or Pakistan side which are provoking youth to carry out mischief in Kashmir valley.
He said in response on the first day of Ramzan ceasefire terrorists attacked the brave hearts in the Valley and Pakistan lobbed shells on LoC in the State of J&K.
Kundan Kashmiri, while addressing the meeting at New Delhi stated that such experiment and exercise was made during the Vajpayee regime in 2000, but has proved fatal and counter–productive after getting huge number of security forces killed resulting in the lot of disturbances in the Valley. That experiment made by Vajpayee Government has achieved nothing but death of our brave hearts and attacked on vital installations in the Valley.
President KPC further questioned that what for the ceasefire has been declared in the Ramzan, when the terrorists and stone pelters have guns and stones in their hands to kill others and have no morality or ethics. It is also surprising that the Mehbooba Mufti, Chief Minister of the State who pushed forward this proposal to the Center for approval is not herself in a position to visit her constituency with out huge security contingent or to conduct the Lok Sabha elections in Anantnag and Panchayat elections in the Valley.
He said this move of Mehbooba Mufti is politically motivated and for giving a lease of life to dying militants, stone pelters and others, who are at present under heavy pressure of security forces.
Other KPC activists and leaders who attended the meeting included Tej Pandita, Dr. H. L. Saraf, M. N. Raina, R. L. Raina, S. L. Zuthsi, Surender Kumar and others.
