Cattle smugglers attack police in Ghagwal, cop injured

SAMBA, Feb 23: Cattle smugglers have once again attacked the police in Ghagwal of Samba district and injured a policeman. This is not the first time that cattle smugglers have attacked police, even before these attacks have been carried out by smugglers.
The incident took place on Thursday midnight when, on the basis of specific information, the Ghagwal police had set up a special naka established at the Main Chowk and tried to stop the Mahindra load carrier vehicle at the checkpoint. First the driver tried to fled, after which the smugglers sitting in the vehicle attacked the policemen with stones due to which a police personnel was injured.
Police personnel chased the vehicle but the smugglers managed to escape. Police have registered a case Under Sections 332, 358, 336, 147 IPC in Police Station, Ghagwal and have started further investigation. The injured policeman has been admitted to Trauma Hospital Ghagwal. The injured policeman has been identified as SPO Janak Raj who has suffered injuries on his head and arm.
In this regard, SSP Samba, Vinay Kumar Sharma said that continuous action is being taken against smugglers. Taking continuous action against them for the last several days, Samba Police has foiled many attempts and has also arrested many smugglers. At the same time, it is all due to the nervousness of those who are doing such things. However, the police has completely cracked down on them, the attackers have been identified, they will be caught soon and strictest action will be taken against them under the law.
