Case registered for illegal excavation in Pulwama

SRINAGAR, May 31: Police today registered a case in connection with illegal excavation at Puchal area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

A Police spokesperson said Police Station Pulwama received information that an L&T machine was being used for unauthorized excavation at Puchal, near Dairy Farm in Pulwama, causing damage to government land. The excavated material was allegedly being loaded into a tipper and transported without the required permission.

Acting on the information, a police team reached the spot and seized the L&T machine and tipper involved in the activity, the spokesperson said.

Accordingly, FIR No. 103/2026 has been registered at Police Station Pulwama under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PPD) Act, and further investigation has been initiated.
