JAMMU, May 31: Jammu Pariyatan Vikas Cooperative Limited (JPVCL) organized a “Women’s Wellness Carnival” at Jhajjar Kotli today.
The event brought together women from diverse backgrounds for a day dedicated to physical, mental, and emotional wellness. The carnival witnessed enthusiastic participation from women, healthcare professionals, fitness experts, entrepreneurs, community leaders, university professors, school principals, and other remarkable women from various fields.
The carnival featured a wide range of activities, including a fitness session, yoga and meditation sessions, talks on hormonal health and mental wellness, a digital detoxification session, “Letter to Myself for Tomorrow’s Me”, and “Sunshine Brew and Bites”. Participants gained valuable insights into preventive healthcare, stress management, balanced nutrition, and overall well-being.
Neetu Dhar, chairperson of JPVCL, in her address emphasized the importance of prioritizing women’s health and creating supportive environments where women can access reliable health information and wellness resources. She further stated that the Women’s Wellness Carnival was designed to champion women’s holistic health by providing a supportive and uplifting space centred on fitness, mental well-being, and personal growth.
Prof Suvidha Khanna, event advisor, highlighted that the carnival recognized women for prioritizing themselves. She said such events are the need of the hour as women today are grappling with significant mental stress and depression-related issues.
The event successfully fostered awareness about the importance of self-care and preventive healthcare while promoting a culture of wellness and empowerment.
The meditation session was conducted by volunteers — Dr Siya Malhotra, Abhishek Bhardwaj, Sonakshi Channa, and Ishan Bhat — from the Isha Foundation, a non-profit, volunteer-run spiritual and humanitarian organization founded by Sadhguru in 1992.
The yoga and hormonal health session was conducted by Shriya Sharma, an instructor from the The Yoga Institute.
