SAMBA, Apr 6: What can be called a case of cheating and fraud by a private school in Gho Brahmana area of district Samba, 13 students of class 10th could not appear in the annual examination which started today as the School was not recognized by the Board of School Education (BOSE) up to 10th standard.
However the administration as well as authorities of BOSE have taken the serious exception of the role of School administration and initiated punitive action against it for fraud and cheating the students and their parents under law of the land.
The future of 13 students of Shiv Shiksha Kendra High School, Gho Brahmana in Samba district has turned bleak by merely a fraud of the School administration as the students who were waiting for their roll number slips till this morning were shocked to know that their slips have not come from the Board as the School is not recognized with the BOSE.
The irate students and their parents who were shocked protested in the school premises and shouted slogans against its administration and Education Department. They alleged that the Education Department especially CEO Samba has failed to take the cognizance of the matter as to how the School administration had given admission to 9th and 10th class students when the School was only recognized upto 8th standard.
They demanded stern action as per law against the School administration as well as the concerned officers of Education Department who failed to sound the students and their parents in advance that the school is not recognized as High School. Had the administration taken action in time in the matter, the promising and brilliant 13 students of school would not have lost the precious year of their career.
The dejected students said they felt totally cheated and deceived as they can’t face their neighbors and friends. “What we will tell them when they ask us for the reason why we could not appear in the examination? a student with tears in her eyes said”. She said this way a perplexed situation has been created for them as neither they have been declared as fail nor pass.
“We worked hard for entire year with the objective to get through in the examination with flying colours but we have been cheated and not allowed to appear in the examination as School administration has played a fraud with us for the last two years’’, they said.
The protesting students demanded justice and made an appeal to higher ups in Education Department as well as BOSE to save their career from jeopardy.
The students said that they were promised by the administration that their registration has been made and the roll number slips will be delivered to them on appropriate occasion. They added that during entire month of March they were given false assurances whenever they visited School administrator, Rajesh Sharma. She said on March 28th when they met him he told them that soon he will handover them the roll numbers as they are lying with him. But when he failed to provide us the same on that day he said now he will personally visit their residences tomorrow to handover them the roll number slips.
But next morning the administrator said that he is extremely sorry as the roll number slips did not reach and he will try his best to get them enrolled for private examination within a month. The students while protesting against the irresponsible behavior of the school administrator demanded action against him also.
However, District Development Commissioner, Samba, Anuradha Gupta told Excelsior that she has asked the Chief Education Officer, Samba to take legal action against the School administration and get FIR under relevant Sections of law registered against it.
She said that the Education Department had already told the students that the School was not recognized but it is not known that why the parents of students didn’t act well in time. She also appealed the parents to remain vigilant in future and ensure before admitting their wards in the private schools whether they are registered or not.
Secretary BOSE, Manisha Sarin said that School administration will be penalized for its negligence and fraud and action will be taken against it under law. She said she will seek the report tomorrow and efforts will be made to attach the students with Government school.
