Cardamom futures rise 1.17 pc as spot demand picks up

NEW DELHI, Mar 6: Cardamom prices rose 1.17 per cent to Rs 750 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created positions, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market.
Further, restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March rose by Rs 8.70, or 1.17 per cent to Rs 750 per kg in business turnover of 294 lots.
However, spice for delivery in April shed Rs 1.80, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 824.20 per kg in 319 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on the back of rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from growing regions, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
