Bukhari takes stock of development works

SRINAGAR, Sept 13: Minister for PWD (R&B), Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today along with the engineers of R&B Department visited Aaru in Pahalgam and took stock of the ongoing macadamization of Pahalgam-Aaru road there.
He asked the engineers to adopt new specification of 100 MM and 75 MM bituminous for construction of durable roads. He directed them to maintain quality of works at all levels.
The Minister also inspected Public Park at Aaru and appreciated the beautification works executed by the Floriculture Department.
A group of local people also met the Minister and demanded improvement in basic facilities including macadamisation of interior roads.
Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister assured that their demands would be addressed in a phased manner. He said Government is committed to improve the basic facilities for the people especially in hilly and rural areas.
The Minister ordered immediate macadamisation of inner links at Aaru so that the work is completed before the onset of cold season.
The Minister also inspected ongoing works of Pahalgam Club. He was informed that Rs 23.50 crore have been expended on the project and is scheduled to be inaugurated by September 21 this month.
