JAMMU, May 25: The J&K unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), president Darshan Rana has strongly condemned the alarming increase in incidents of rape, murder, and other heinous crimes across both Jammu and Kashmir Divisions.
Expressing grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, he stated that the growing number of such incidents has created fear and insecurity among the public and has raised serious questions regarding the administration’s ability to ensure the safety and dignity of citizens.
Rana stated that repeated incidents of violence against women and innocent citizens reflect a disturbing trend and indicate a failure in governance and preventive mechanisms. He said that crimes of such serious nature cannot be treated as routine incidents or mere statistical figures. The administration, he said, must understand the gravity of the situation and take immediate corrective measures rather than relying on formal statements and assurances.
He further said that the BSP demands immediate arrest of all accused involved in rape and murder cases and strict punishment through an expedited judicial process without any political interference.
Rana urged the Government to strengthen security measures, increase police patrolling in sensitive areas, establish dedicated fast-track courts for atrocity and serious criminal cases, and ensure accountability of officials in areas where such incidents repeatedly occur.
