JAMMU, Apr 25: BSP J&K has expressed serious concern over the ongoing process of finalizing District Capex and Panchayat Plans in the absence of elected District Development Councils (DDCs) and other Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
In a handout BSP leaders stated that when the crucial development plans are being prepared in consultation with MLAs, there is a significant risk that the interests and rights of marginalized sections like Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs) and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) may be overlooked.
BSP has demanded that adequate and proportionate allocation of funds must be ensured for SC/ST/OBC communities across all development plans.
The party called for strict transparency and accountability in the planning process to prevent any discrimination.
It also highlighted the urgency of taking a pending decision on OBC reservation in Panchayati Raj Institutions, stating that further delay undermines the principle of rightful political representation.
