Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 52 cattle rescued, four smugglers arrested

JAMMU, May 31: Nagrota Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 52 cattle and arresting four smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, teams from Nagrota Police Station and Sidhra Police Post laid nakas and intercepted four vehicles.
During checking, police team rescued 52 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested four smugglers, who were identified as Tanvir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Hassan of Darzipura Ganderbal, Danish Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed of Darzipura Ganderbal, Atta Mohammad, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Chambalwas Banihal and Riaz Mohammad, son of Abdul Rashid of Jakhani Udhampur.
Cases under FIR Number 219/2020, 221/2020, 222/2020 and 223/2020 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and Incharge Police Post Sidhra Inspector Zaheer Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
