JAMMU, Mar 13: The dead body of a woman, who allegedly jumped into River Chenab yesterday near Ambaran village, was recovered today from the river bank at Pargwal.
“The woman has been identified as Sunita Devi wife of Anil Kumar, resident of village Ambaran,” a police official said, adding the woman went missing from her residence yesterday and on search, his mobile phone was recovered from river bank near the village.
He said on the basis of apprehension the woman has jumped into the river, a search operation was launched and today her body was recovered from the river bank near Pargwal area. “The body has been shifted to SDH Akhnoor for postmortem while inquest proceeding has been initiated at police station Akhnoor,” the official added.
