BMS triennial conference concludes, office bearers appointed

KATRA, Mar 24: The 16th State triennial conference of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) J&K concluded at Chinta Mani Trust Katra in which more than 200 delegates participated.
In the conference resolutions were passed for minimum wages linking with consumer price index in J&K, social security to daily wagers and their regularization in phased manner, implementations of Labour Laws in accordance with statuary provisions, providing status of industry to private sector transport and stoppage of personal vehicles on contract system, enhancing honorarium of Anganwadi workers and social security cover to them and preference to locals in projects and industry as per 80 per cent norm fixed by the State Government in employment.
Addressing the delegates, BMS national organizing secretary, B Surenderen emphasized for expansion of BMS work in left-out geographical areas and sectors in J&K.
In concluding session a new team of office bearers of State BMS was unanimously elected with Dev Parkash as president; Roshu Sharma, Naseeb Singh, Sachin Bali, and Karan Kapoor as vice presidents; Neelam Sharma as general secretary; Mukesh Kumar, Deputy General Secretary; Ravi Hans, Rajinder Sharma and Rohit Seth, secretaries and Vikas Khajuria, cashier, Ashfaq Ahmad Chohan, Harbans Choudhary, Chanan Singh Toor, Javaid Sheikh, Jiwan Thakur, Shoba Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Shamsher Chand, Anil Kumar, Parshotam Kumar, Nilza, Chuni Lal and Rani Devi were made working committee members.
A handout of BMS stated that Ashfaq Ahmad Chohan was given responsibility of industrial sector; Harbans Choudhary of legal work; Chuni Lal of Paryavaran Panch; Chanan Singh Toor was made Editor and Parshotam Kumar was given responsibility of District Reasi and Ashok Choudhary was made organizing secretary of BMS and this team will work for next three years.
