BMS demands implementation of Minimum Wages Act in J&K

JAMMU, Dec 4: Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has demanded that the Government should issue notification to make Minimum Wages Act applicable in J&K UT.
In a press conference here today Subash Verma, president BMS and Ashok Choudhary, General Secretary BMS said thousands of workers working in factories, private schools, as security guards etc can be benefitted by the Act.
Verma also said that industrial workers, NHM, Aganwadi and Asha workers, mid day meals workers and others will also be benefitted if Minimum Wages Act is implemented in J&K UT.
BMS also demanded that senior labour officials should be made answerable as numbers of complaints have been filed against the non-implementation of statuary provisions seriously.
The BMS leaders also said that field inspection by the labour inspectors, labour officers, PF officials and ESI officials should be stopped immediately and these inspections should be clubbed and these officials should be asked to conduct inspection in a team.
