SRINAGAR, Dec 14: Refusing to support the demand of early restoration of Statehood to J&K, the Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha National Vice President, Er Aijaz Hussain said that people should give time to Central Government for monitoring the developmental process here.
“The Centre monitored developmental model should be given around 10 to 15 years even as Statehood is the right of J&K and Central Government will take an appropriate decision on the same when there will be peace and progress here in the Valley,” he said in an interview.
Favouring restoration of democratic process in Kashmir, the BJYM leader predicted that BJP would win around 15 Assembly seats from Kashmir province.
“The democratic set up needs to be restored in Kashmir and for that holding of Assembly elections here, is a welcome step,” Aijaz said adding that people in Kashmir face a number of hardships on daily basis and for redressal of the same, BJP will accept Election Commission’s decision to hold elections in J&K.
The BJYM leader sought to downplay detention of political leaders in Kashmir and said that in the recently held BDC elections, new faces came to fore. The Valley has new faces and the BJP is in a position to win 15 seats from Kashmir province in case elections are held at this moment, he added.
