BJP fails to fulfill promises: Ex-MLA

NAGROTA, Aug 1: Senior Congress leader and former MLA, Shiv Dev Singh has claimed that all sections of society have become disenchanted with the BJP Government as the party has “failed” to fulfill its poll promises.
While addressing gathering at village Khalti, Panchayat Kot Jagir, today, Singh said that the BJP has betrayed the people of Jammu region on the name of development and has been miserably failed on all front to fulfill its promises made during the Assembly polls.
He mentioned that village Khalti bridge, which connects the residents of the village with Nagrota Block, was washed away during the 2014 flash floods. In 2014 poll campaign, the representatives of various political parties visited village Khalti and assured the residents of the village that all their grievances being related to the basic amenities would be fulfilled but it is unfortunate to say that till date nothing has been done on the ground.
“Village Khalti is a remote and far-flung area of the Nagrota Block where people are facing great hardships on account of healthcare, education, road connectivity, power and drinking water facilities and such areas should get special attention of the government to provide adequate basic facilities to the people in all spheres of life, but it is unfortunate that the present coalition government has neglected the village Khalti in every sphere of life and people are left on the mercy of God,” Singh added.
