JAMMU, June 9: A delegation of BJP (J&K) Kashmiri Displaced District led by its president Chand Ji Bhat called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita in his office chamber and discussed various issues concerning displaced Pandits with him.
The other members of the delegation included Shardanandan Bhat, vice president of the Displaced District and P L Dhar its general secretary. The Relief Commissioner assured proper redressal of the demands.
The main issues discussed by the delegation included simplification of process of disbursement of corps fund, implementation of medical insurance, consideration of genuine migrant families putting up in ORTS at Purkhoo and proper preparation of the voter I-cards of the displaced community.
Referring to the issue regarding migrants putting up at ORTS at Purkhoo, the RRC assured that the status quo will be maintained for the genuine and deserving families among the migrants and no further encroachment will be tolerated. On the simplification of the disbursement of medical aid corps fund RRC said that the matter needs to be discussed with the Government and assured the solution at an earliest.
About implementation of medical insurance, Mr Pandita said that he would take up the matter with higher authorities. Referring to the issue of proper preparation of voter cards the RRC said that the matter needs to be taken up with Chief Election Commissioner adding that he would like to assist the concerned authorities in making proper and permanent solution of the issue.
The delegation said that there are many mistakes in the voter I-cards of the KPs. Chand Ji Bhat said that BJP would take up the issue with CEC regarding printing of Voter I Cards at Jammu. The Relief Commissioner also informed the delegation that the formation of Apex Committee of the members with credibility and potential is need of the hour.
