“BJP has nothing to do with Lord Rama. This party is only exploiting people over Ram Temple and wants to win elections on this plank. They can go to the extent of even `selling Rama’ for political gains. But they must remember, Lord Rama does not pertain to BJP, RSS or Hindus only. Bhagwan Ram also belongs to Muslims, Christians, Sikhs or any other community in the world. He came to this world as a great messenger of God (Rab) for every one to spread peace of love, equality, brotherhood and show right path to the people,” Farooq said while addressing a grand foundation day rally of JKNPP organized by former Minister Harsh Dev Singh at Udhampur today.
Launching a scathing attack on BJP, the NC president further said that BJP has only sown the seeds of hatred among the people of different communities. It created division among the society which is very dangerous for the country like India. It failed miserably on all fronts. The unemployed youth peacefully protesting for their cause were lathi-charged. Many educated youth lost their jobs. The new jobs are not being provided and the tainted companies are being engaged for recruitment. This party stands exposed before the people, Farooq asserted.
While paying tribute to Prof Bhim Singh- the founder of the party, Dr Farooq recalled his services for the people of J&K, State Legislature and Judiciary. He asked the large gathering to support Harsh Dev Singh who is most capable to lead the party from the front. He said JKNPP is the strong voice of this area. Abdullah also advised people here to love their mother tongue and speak Dogri as it is their real identity.
The NC leader said the opposition parties must get united to defeat the designs of BJP, whose mantra is only to divide the society and exploit people on religious slogans. He said all the secular and like minded parties must get united and become strong force to counter BJP which believes in selling hollow slogans.
JKPCC working president, Raman Bhalla while paying tribute to Prof Bhim Singh said that it is need of the hour to get all the opposition political parties united and open common front against BJP. He said the BJP has proved disastrous for the historic State of J&K. It created two Union Territories, snatched Statehood, rights of the people including their lands and jobs and also jobs of many youth here.
Bhalla said tax after tax is being imposed on the people in J&K. New laws are being imposed every day. The tax terrorism of BJP is haunting the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The buildings and shops are being bulldozed and exorbitant water and power bills are being slapped on the people. Having failed to perform, the BJP through its proxy Government is imposing new laws just to divert the attention of the people from real issues. Bhalla said the BJP is afraid of facing elections and is delaying it apprehending its sure defeat in next elections.
JKNPP leader and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh while addressing party workers said that BJP has defamed and hurt the J&K people by breaking this great and historic State into two UTs. This had never been a demand of the people from this erstwhile State. It snatched Statehood, right on land and jobs. It sold local resources to the people from outside and caused much more damage to J&K, which can never be imagined. He said inflation has broken the backbone of people. The prices of LPG/ fuel and other essential items has gone sky high. Many employees and workers have been thrown out.
Referring to the tax terrorism created by the BJP through its proxy Government in J&K, JKNPP leader said that this Administration has only given jolt after jolts to the people here. It is using bulldozers to smash building/shops, imposing tax after taxes and now the new one- the property tax has been slapped on the people here despite strong opposition by public and other parties. He said people are unable to pay huge taxes after facing COVID situation and bandhs after abrogation of Art 370.
Singh said no recruitment process could be completed since long. Lists of three major exams were cancelled due to scams. Tainted companies are being engaged for conducting exams and there is no body to listen to the grievances of general public. The people are frustrated due to the policies of BJP, over all mismanagement and malfunctioning of this administration in J&K, Singh alleged.
Several other leaders including Rattan Lal Gupta- NC provincial president and JKNPP functionaries also spoke on the occasion and paid tribute to party founder Prof Bhim Singh.
