JAMMU, July 4: BJP is committed to the welfare of the farmers. This was stated by party’s State chief spokesperson, Adv. Sunil Sethi while addressing a press conference along with State press secretary, Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and State media secretary, Suraj Singh.
While appreciating the raising of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy Sethi said that BJP has welcomed the decision of Central Government in raising MSP for rice. This has fulfilled the commitment of the party for uplifting the living conditions of the farmers’ of the country. Party stands committed for increasing the income of farmers to double by the year 2020, he added.
Adv. Sunil Sethi said that no party had considered working for farmers and poor after coming to power in the past and had only made hollow promises to farmers leading to pitiable conditions of the farmers who are the backbone of Indian economy and the nation is so very proud of its farmers community.
Sunil Sethi further said that party has yet again proved that there is no difference between the words and deeds of the party and for BJP the only consideration which is important is the welfare of the people as it stands on ideology of nation first.
The promise made in financial budget 2018 of raising minimum procurement price has been met by increasing Minimum Support Price (MSP) by 200 Rs per quintal which will go long way in helping the farmers. The party in Government will ensure that life of hardship for farmers and committing of suicide by them will be history. BJP is committed to work for the welfare of the farmers and will continue to take strong decision for the same in future, he further added.
