BJP candidate Stanzin wins uncontested from Singaylalok

LEH, (Ladakh) Oct, 11: On the last day of nomination withdrawal of Block Development Council (BDC) candidates today, BJP female candidate Stanzin Yangdol won the Singaylalok Block BDC chairman election.
She was the lone candidate of the Singaylalok block which consisted of Photoksar, Lingshed, Dipling and Wanla village. She was given a rousing welcome at BJP party office today. Later addressing a press conference at party office BJP Leh unit president Dorjay Angchuk flanked by Jammu & Kashmir BJP general secretary and Ladakh incharge Satish Sharma and BJP Leh unit vice president, Advocate Tashi Gailson said that victory of a female candidate uncontested on the BDC seat not only created a new history in the region but also set as an example for entire Ladakh for giving equal space for female to participate in active politics.
He added that Ladakhi people have high hopes and faith in BJP party and Prime Minister has fulfilled the long standing demands of UT, Airport extension, medical college and number of other projects for the development of region. He added that winning a women candidate on BDC chairman seat is the best way to compliment Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and he expressed the hope to win all the 16 seats of BDC election on coming days.
Expressing his delight on winning the first BDC seat uncontested BJP general secretary and Ladakh incharge, Satish Sharma said that history is created today by a young lady and he complimented the people of Ladakh for having faith in BJP party in all elections including recently concluded MP election.
Winning candidate Stanzin Yangdol hailing from Photoksar village expressing her gratitude to the people of Singaylalok for electing her uncontested said that people have high hopes on her and she assured to live upto the expectation of people to develop the region uniformly. She added that her region is a backward village and she expressed her hope that with coming of BDC there will be lots of progress and development in the region.
Pertinent to mention here that as many as 48 candidates including 14 females are in fray for the post of BDC chairman and election will be held on 24th October.
Meanwhile Rajni Bala who had filled her papers as independent from Balwal today withdrew from the contest in support of BJP candidate saying that the decision was taken by her in larger interests of people of the area and party.
