JAMMU, Oct 11: Yuvtarang -2019 – the mega cultural/literary contest organised by office of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, today entered the second day of the Literary Segment – ‘Saahityam’ with Quiz contest at GGM Science College, Constituent college of Cluster University of Jammu.
Nine teams from all the colleges and PGI Schools participated in the event. The Quiz contest was spread into preliminary and final rounds with each team comprising of three students representing their respective institutions. In the preliminary round, all the nine teams were given a questionnaire of hundred questions. The grand finale comprised of eight rounds with questions on general knowledge and current affairs which included rounds with audio-visual technology.
GGM Science College team of Akshat Padha, Ankit Digra and Akash Gupta clinched the Gold medal, MAM team of Akshit Rana, Abhinandan Dheiman and Aryan Ajay Sen bagged the Silver medal and GCW Gandhi Nagar team of Rashmi Manhas, Nahida Choudhary and Farzana Batool got the Bronze medal.
Dr Virender Kundal, Associate Professor, Economics from University of Jammu, was the Quiz Master for the contest. Prof Koushal Smotra, Principal GGM Science College and Prof S P Sharma, Dean Faculty of Sciences, graced the prize distribution ceremony along with Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare to boost and motivate the morale of the contestants.
The contest was coordinated by Prof Babita Mahajan, Convener, Literary Committee, Dr Geetanjali Rajput, Assistant Dean and Dr Davinder Kour, Cultural Coordinator, Cluster University of Jammu under the supervision of Prof Archana Koul, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Banpreet Kour and Prof Sunil Uppal, Associate Deans, Students Welfare.
