JAMMU, Mar 20: BJP has taken serious exception to the move of district administration Anantnag in forcible eviction of some party leaders from Government quarters in Anantnag and warned that the administration will be held responsible in case any untoward happens with any of its activist.
The organizing secretary of the party and its in charge of South Kashmir, Veer Saraf today said that the district administration of Anantnag has started harassing the party leaders residing in the Government quarters at Anantnag by putting lock over their quarters.
Saraf said instead of serving any notice the district administration has put lock over the lock of the residential quarters of the Party leaders in Khanabal. Questioning the action he said the authorities were supposed to serve the notice before such action. He said this way the partymen feel harassed and also their lives have been put under threat despite the fact they have worked in trying circumstances in the Valley.
He said the BJP leaders and activists are being targeted by the administration which is harassing them as they were instrumental in convincing the people to take part in Panchayat and ULB elections and make them a success.
He said the move is based on vendetta as the administration is in league with NC and Congress whose leaders occupying the Government quarters were not harassed and BJP activists were only singled out. Saraf has also sought immediate intervention of Governor and the party State leadership in the matter. He warned that district administration will be responsible if any untoward happens with any party activist.
