JAMMU, Apr 20: The birth anniversary of Sri Monglishwar Bairav, the main Kheterpal from the clam of Asht Bairavs of Kashmir valley was celebrated today with full religious fervour and enthusiasm at Geeta Bhawan Muthi near here.
A grand function in this regard was organised by Sri Monglishwar Asthapan Prabhandak Committee Sirnoo, Monghama in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion president of the Committee, Baskar Nath Bhat exhorted the community youth to follow a principled way of life in conformity with the values and traditions of Sanatan Dharam. He also implored the need to strengthen the culture and traditions.
Elaborating, general secretary of the Committee Sunil Bhat said that traditions of the community are reflected through its customs, language, food habits, dress codes, music taste and specific spiritual pursuits.
He said all these things put together define our face and as such are vital for sustaining our identity. He also called upon the devotees to provide required assistance to the Committee in its endeavor to construct a community welfare institution in Jammu at the name of Monglishwar Bairav.
Traditional Aarti, a religious mantra together with the Gayatri of the Monglishwar Bairav aided and composed by Satisar Foundation which would henceforth form an integral part of Bairav Puja was recited on the occasion. Famous music group of Munoo Ji Mastana enthralled the devotees by singing devotional songs. This was followed by serving of prashad to devotees.
