JAMMU, Apr 20: Outplaying Param Football Club by three goals to one via tie-breaker, Sainik Colony Football Club lifted the title trophy of the 1st Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Young Heroes Football Club at GGM Science College Football ground, here today.
Earlier, after a goalless draw in the stipulated time, Sainik Colony defeated the rival team in tie-breaker, with Harmohinder, Bhanu Kumar and Niteshwar scoring goals for Sainik Colony and Stanzin netting the goal for Param FC. For Sainik Colony, Dimple missed the target, while Arun Ajay Sharma and Brijender Kumar failed to score goals for Param FC in tie-breaker.
For foul and dangerous play, yellow cards were shown to Ankit Mehta, Dimple and Harmohinder (all from Sainik Colony Club) in 2nd, 30th and 71st minutes respectively. Bhanu Kumar was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant performance.
The match was officiated by Suresh Kumar Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Tanpreet Singh and Harmanjeet Singh.
Raman Bhalla, Minister for Youth Services and Sports was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Zamer Thakur, president JKFA, S Surinder Singh Bunty, vice president JKFA, S Kuldeep Singh, SM Gill, Ramesh Chander, Sheikh Mehmood, Balbir Kumar, Vijay Lochan, Charan Dass, Dr Nirmolak Singh, Narinder Gupta, Harbans Lal, Devi Dass, Rajesh Sumbria, Surjeet Singh, Rohit Kumar Gupta and Tushar Heer.
