‘Bhatta Shourie’ recalls sacrifices of elders

JAMMU, July 19: In order to felicitate the Kashmiri Pandit elders, ‘Bhatta Shourie’-A Kashmiri Pandit Children Initiative, organized a grand event at the K K Resorts, Bohri, here today.
The function was organized to put on record the sacrifices of the elders.
Various elders who were felicitated on the occasion were Varishta Muni, Dr Janki Nath Jigyasu, Pt Omkar Nath Trisal, Hriday Nath Kakroo, Omkar Nath Kak, A N Hangloo, Mohini ji, Lakshmishori, Shiela Khar and Syed Lakshmi Kaul.
Elders were felicitated by social activists,Opinder Bhat,Tej Kishen Jigyasu, B.K.Seru, Sanjay Raina and Sanjay Dhar.
A documentary by Virender Rawal was also shown to highlight the lifelong contribution of Dr.Janki Nath Jigyasu to the KP society on his 100th birthday.
Social activist Ajay Khosa said that best way to pay back to our leaders and elders is to develop community infrastructure in terms of health, medical care, education and entrepreneurship. Speaking on the occasion, young Dhriti Kaul said that it was a blessing to be among the four generations of KPs.
The felicitation started with the inaugural address by Master Chander Bagati followed by mantra Ucharan by Sharan Dhar besides the chanting the of Vedic mantras by the  children of Vedic Pathshala, Amphalla, Jammu.
P.N Kaul Sayil read paper on the life and times of Dr Janki Nath Jigyasu. Devotional programme was conducted by Dr.Ramesh Bhat and his book titled on elders ‘Ruman Reh’was also released on this occasion .To showcase the cultural heritage of the Kashmiri Pandit community a cultural exhibition was also organized.

The proceedings of the programme were conducted by a well known artist Kusum Dhar.
