JAMMU, July 19: Underlining the commitment of the Government to improve quality of education in the State, Minister of State for Education, Information, and Culture Priya Sethi today said the education sector is receiving focused attention and all out efforts are being made to upgrade the infrastructure in Government schools on modern lines.
She said development of human resource has been prioritised and very soon a policy on rationalisation of staff in Government schools would be put in place and new bench marks will be fixed. “Need of the hour is to train human resource as per the requirements of modern day education scenario and the mission of quality education to all was only possible with trained teachers,” she added.
The Minister was speaking at a training workshop of teachers organised by Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti, J&K here today.
As many as 36 teachers from 13 schools run by the Samiti in different parts of the state were trained in modern teaching techniques and tools.
Principals, teachers and other staff of the schools run by the Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti attended the function.
Appreciating the efforts of the Samiti for supplementing the efforts of Government in the education sector, the Minister said social organisations are not contributing in only philanthropic activities, but are doing commendable job in the field of education across the State.
She said that Government always acknowledges the good work of some credible organizations and extending them necessary financial and logistic supports from time to time. She called upon such organizations to join hands with the Government in promoting the noble cause to make the society more literate and prosper, the Minister asserted.
