KISHTWAR, May 31: The civil society Kishtwar has expressed serious concern over delaying tactics of the Government in starting the restoration of Batote -Kishtwar road on war footing basis.
The society which held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of Shamsher Singh Bhandari senior Congress leader said that people of the twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar are facing many hardships due to worst condition of the Batote Kishtwar Highway and the survey be started for construction of an alternative all weather Highway to Kishtwar immediately.
The meting also demanded that the special steps be taken to boost the saffron cultivators of Kishtwar as the crop suffered a damage last year due to heavy rains.
Mr Bhandari also expressed concern over the delaying tactics of the Government in starting work on various power projects in the area and demanded that the work be restored on Rattle power project besides the construction work on other projects be also started.
