JAMMU, Dec 23: Newly appointed working president JKPCC, Raman Bhalla was accorded rousing reception today at the PCC head office Shahidi Chowk, Jammu by the Congress leaders and workers.
PCC chief GA Mir, senior leaders of PCC, DCC presidents and Frontal wings were present on the occasion including chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, vice president Kanta Bhan, general secretaries Yogesh Sawhney, Manmohan Singh, Shahnawaj Choudhary, DCC presidents Hari Singh Chib (Jammu-R), KC Bhagat (Udhampur), Shabir Ahmed Khan (Rajouri), Pankaj Dogra (Kathua), Sanjeev Sharma (Samba), Rajesh Sadhotra (Reasi) and many others.

Addressing the gathering , Mir welcomed the decision of party high command to appoint Raman Bhalla as working president, as he is a hard working leader of the party, remains amongst the people in thick and thin and all weather leader of the people. He said that for the past quite some time, consultations were going on at various levels to further strengthen the organization and gear up activities, especially in Jammu region. He said that various such decisions were in the pipe line and hope that his appointment will further boost the activities of the party in Jammu region.
Bhalla in his address thanked the gathering of leaders and workers for their rousing reception and expressed gratitude to Congress high command and JKPCC president for trusting him and giving him opportunity to further serve the party and the people. He said that he will leave no stone unturned to come up to the expectations of Congress leadership and the workers and would expose the betrayal of ruling BJP to people of Jammu region. He said that BJP has cheated the each and every sections of society by ‘jhumlas’ and false promises.
He said that BJP Government downgraded the status, dignity and identity of the Dogra State and deprived the youth of `Right to Job’, while the daily wagers and other temporary employees and others are suffering. He said that Congress party will fight relentlessly for the rights of people of each and every section and every region against the wrong policies of BJP.
Earlier, the Congress workers and supporters took Bhalla from his residence Trikuta Nagar upto PCC office in cavalcade of vehicles and motorcycles carrying party flags and raising slogans.
