BGSBU organizes national seminar on Arabic

RAJOURI, Nov 17: To unfold the bond of Arabic language with science & technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University’s Department of Arabic held one day national seminar in which experts and scholars from different universities of India presented their papers and highlighted the relation of this language with the science.
In the seminar titled “Arabic language in the age of Science & Technology”, Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal, who was chief guest on the occasion, spoke on the topic and termed holy Quran as base of the Science. He said that the holy book is scientifically tested and its every word is scientifically proven.
The seminar was divided into two sessions. The first session was chaired by Prof M N Khan, HoD Arabic, University of Delhi. Five scholars, including Dr Mohammad Azam of BGSBU, Dr Syed Abdul Majeed Anrabi, HoD Arabic Islamic University of Science & Technology Awantipora Kashmir, Dr Mohammad Apfan of BGSBU, Dr SK Anjum HoD Arabic, BGSBU and Inayat Rasool of Islamic University of Science & Technology presented their papers.
The second session was chaired by Prof Irshad A Hamal and a power point presentation was given by Dr Shams Kamal Anjum in which he highlighted achievements and working of the department from 2005 to 2013. In this session, 5 papers were presented by Dr Mujeeb ur Rehman, Associate Professor of Jawahar Lal Nehru University Delhi, Dr Shaad Hussain, HoD Arabic, University of Kashmir, Prof Habib ullah Khan, Department of Arabic, Jamia Milia Islamia, Prof Kafeel Ahmed Qasmi, HoD Arabic, Aligarh Muslim University and Prof M N Khan, HoD Arabic University of Delhi.
