JAMMU, Apr 5: The dead body of a beggar was found lying on a footpath in Nowabad area this evening.
According to a police spokesman, the deceased was identified as Raj Kumar (60) son of Banarsi Dass, resident of Bishnah. He said the body has been shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital and the postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.
“In this connection, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated in police station Nowabad and further investigation started,” he added.
