SRINAGAR, Apr 5: Police in Kulgam today rescued a girl at Mirbazar Qazigund and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of the crime.
A police spokesperson said that the Police Post Mirbazar received specific information about a girl being raped by two persons inside a vehicle bearing registration number JK18A-6426 near FCI Mirbazar.
Accordingly, a police party from PP Mirbazar under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Shri Mohammad Shafiq-JKPS immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the girl.
“Police have arrested two accused persons and also seized vehicle used in the commission of the crime. They have been identified as Hafiz Farooq Parray son of Farooq Ahmad Parray and Ubaid Ayoub Raina son of Mohammad Ayoub both the residents of Gadihama Kulgam,” police said.
Regarding the incident, police said, a case FIR No. 63/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Qazigund and further investigation has been initiated.
The girl, after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities was handed over to her legal heirs.
