BBIA projects problems of industrialists due to demonetization

JAMMU, Nov 23: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) today projected the problems being faced by the industrialists from Jammu, Samba and Kathua area in view of demonetization and sought some relief from the Government.
While interacting with the  Suresh Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal (GoI); Additional Commissioner Commercial Taxes Department TK Bhat and Ravinder Singh, SDM Vijaypur at BBIA Bhawan here today, the president of BBIA Lalit Mahajan along with other members raised the concern of the industrial sector.
Suresh Kumar along with  TK Bhat discussed  the problems being faced by the Industrialists  due to limited cash withdrawal limit of Rs 50,000 per week and other related issues.
While appreciating the bold step taken by Prime Minister to wipe out the black money,  Mahajan highlighted the problems being faced by the Industrial Sector and suggested certain measures to minimize their problems. He demanded that the  cash withdrawal limit for the Industrial sector should be enhanced to Rs 2 lakh
per week for day to day expenses related to the working of the units, the  withdrawal should be allowed for the payment of advance for wages on 15th of every month and payment of wages on 7th of every month on the basis of requirement.
Mahajan suggested that deposit of old notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 shall be allowed for the payment of Govt dues at Lakhanpur Check Post to ease out the problem being faced by the truck drivers and Reserve Bank of India should allow the Banks including J&K Bank to take old notes of Rs 500/1000 Industrial Units of J&K for the clearance of  utility bills of power, water etc. He also demanded to extend the date for the acceptance of old notes of Rs 500/1000 by the Petrol pumps, Pharmacy shops and Hospitals after Nov 24, 2016 till the availability of sufficient new currency with the Banks.
Suresh Kumar listen all the suggestions given BBIA members  and assured to forward the suggestions to the appropriate authorities. Senior members Ajay Langar and Viraaj Malhotra also attended the meeting.
