In an urgent meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) held today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan in presence of office bearers Tarun Singla, Ajay Langer, Viraaj Malhotra, Rajesh Jain, Vivek Singhal and others, the members discussed the issue in respect of problems being faced by industrial workers due to closer of OPD/IPD services in local ESIC Hospital due to conversion of this hospital into COVID-19 hospital.
It is pertinent to mention here that at present around 75000 registered insured persons are getting the facilities of OPD/IPD from the ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana for which the industrial workers are paying their hard earn money to ESI Corporation for their treatment and it is unjustified on the part of State Administration for the conversion of ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana into COVID-19 hospital and also shifted the Corona positive cases in the hospital resulting the entry of Industrial workers banned for any type of day today medical assistance and specialized treatment. In case of any emergency, the unit holders have no option but to send the worker to Govt Medical College, Jammu for treatment at their own expenses and the insured persons have no option but to get their treatment from private hospitals/clinics for their day today medical problems.
They said the administration has already shifted positive cases of COVID-19 in ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana which is a serious issue keeping in mind the influx of approximate around 35000 workers in the industrial complex, Bari Brahmana on daily basis and we fear chances of spreading this deadly virus in the complex.
The BBIA members requested the Lt Governor, GC Murmu and also Saurabh Bhagat, Commissioner/ Secretary Labour & Employment Department for the immediate shifting of COVID-19 patients from the ESIC Hospital Bari Brahmana to other places and open the ESIC Hospital for daily OPD/IPD for the registered insured persons which will provide great relief to Industrial workers.
