KATHUA, Jan 23: The residents of Bani held protest demonstration against sacrilegious act at village Bani forest in block Duggan of Bani tehsil.
The Bani shopkeepers closed the shutters of their business establishments and the residents took out a protest rally in Bani town raising slogans in favour of their demand. They were demanding immediate arrest of culprits behind the sacrilegious act as head of an animal was found in forest area. The Ex MLA Bani Jeevan Lal also supported the protest and criticized the unfortunate act which took place in Bani area.
He said that some anti social elements are active in this area and want to disturb the peace after creating difference between Hindus and Muslims who are living peacefully.
He said that this is not first incident, such acts are deliberately done by anti social elements to disturb the peaceful atmosphere. He also pointed out the working of some social media portals operating in Bani area who are also responsible for promoting differences. He has demanded stern action against the accused responsible for the sacrilegious act which has hurt the sentiments of people.
Youth leader, Mudasar Ali has also demanded probe into the incident and action against the culprits trying to disturb peace.
The SDM and SHO Bani listened the demand of the people and ordered to constitute a Coordination Committee to ascertain the facts. They assured the people that accused will not be spared.
