KATHUA, Apr 23: While describing PDP-BJP alliance as rudderless arrangement of two parties just to enjoy power, newly elected Member Legislative Council (MLC) and senior Congress leader, Thakur Balbir Singh today alleged that this Govt during the last two years has proved as non-performing liability on the people of this State.
Addressing series of public receptions/ gathering during his road show from Hiranagar Morh to Dayala Chak, Dinga Amb, Ramkote, Nagrota Gujru, Mandli, Phintar and Billawar today, Balbir Singh alleged that people from all the regions and sub-regions of the State, are bearing the brunt of the misdeeds and wrong policies of this dispensation. He said the J&K has been gripped with the unprecedented cries due to inept leadership at the helm of affairs.
“Situation in Kashmir valley is worsening with every passing day due to the incompetent Government, while in Jammu region, people are facing hardships due to mis-governance,” Singh maintained.
The Congress Legislator further said that day today problems of the common masses, have been increasing due to casual approach being adopted by the coalition partners to address the basic issues. The common people have been bearing the brunt of internal bickering between the two coalition partners, because both the parties lack consensus on important issues. Even the ministers of PDP and BJP are involved into war of words on important issues.
Singh alleged that in last two years, both the parties stand exposed as they have reneged on all the promises made with the people during elections. He said tall claims of this Government to accelerate development activities and taking steps for the betterment of the common masses remained confined only on papers and nothing visible was witnessed on the ground.
Terming two years tenure of PDP-BJP as dark period in the history of J&K, Balbir Singh said that growing unrest among people is very dangerous trend and it would be proved disastrous for the peace in the State.
He expressed gratitude to the Congress leadership for giving him mandate for the Legislative Council election and said that this win was the victory of secular and democratic forces in the State. He hoped that secular forces would come together in future also to throw communal forces out from the J&K State.
The meetings were also addressed by DCC president Kathua, Subhash Gupta, former MLA Hiranagar Girdhari Lal Chalotra and secretary PCC, Pankaj Dogra.
